This week in Sister Claire, we’re having a special Bright Birthday Week!
This Tuesday, March 20th, is Claire’s and Clementine’s birthday! Very soon in the comic timeline, Claire will be turning 21 years old. Though we won’t be getting there for a few months still. That’s for next chapter ;D
So this week, we’ll be running a Kitty Special, featuring our lovely feline cast and their best two-legged friends! Moreover, we’ll be taking this chance to promote charities doing the Bright One’s work with our little furry companions.
Today's organisation of note is a local one for us, and very dear to our hearts:
Per their website, The Goathouse Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, no-kill animal sanctuary dedicated to providing cage-free care for cats regardless of age, medical issues or disposition until a permanent loving adoptive home can be found. The folks at this sanctuary go above and beyond for the cats in their care and for cats in general, and take it from us: this place is just as wonderful as it sounds. We've spent many an afternoon visiting Goathouse, playing with the cats and talking to the volunteers who make it all possible.
If you're local, consider adopting or visiting! Or if you can spare even a dollar, it will go to a great cause (and it's tax-deductible!).
