Those of you who have been following us for a while know that Ash and I have a particularly powerful magic, specifically being a beacon to lost kittens everywhere. No matter where we are, they seem to find us, and so we have learned to always be prepared to have a spare bathroom ready for unexpected tiny guests. Thanks to social media and our local shelter, we've managed to adopt out almost* all our kitten recuses. (*more on that soon!)
We found this kitten on a highway exit today. There were 3 in total (that we could see) but this is the only one we managed to catch before a huge storm hit. We're going to check back tomorrow and see if we can't rescue the others. They are all siamese-marked points, two flame-points and at least one blue-point. This baby is a light flame-point.
We're going to look after it (and hopefully its siblings if we can catch them!) and socialize them before looking for homes for them. If you are in or near the Chapel Hill, North Carolina area, please let us know!
We also still have Cookie (the one-eared kitten we rescued several months ago) who needs a home:
Cookie was also found on a highway, and we managed to rescue her as she was running in circles, apparently after being bitten by a venomous snake. Because of her bite she had to have surgery to remove most of one ear and also needed several months of careful treatments and medicine from us, but she's in perfect health now and is livelier than ever! She is energetic but very quiet, extremely sweet and sociable, loves other cats and dogs, loves being picked up and held and snuggled, and has the adorable habit of sticking out her tongue and chirping at things. She's a wonderful cat and we would love to keep her, but three permanent cats is too many.
